Third KAUST Red Sea Exhibition underway

Thuwal, Saudi Arabia: Last month, about sixty marine scientists embarked on an 81-day research voyage from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to further explore the Red Sea.

Thuwal, Makkah, Saudi Arabia -The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Red Sea Research Center (RSRC) was inaugurated this week and heralded by local and international faculty for its potential to further marine science research.

KAUST at Jeddah Economic Forum

In the KAUST charter, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, said that the University would act as a catalyst for the diversification of the Saudi economy. Last week two events were held at the 2011 Jeddah Economic Forum (JEF) discussing the work the institution is doing to fulfill this responsibility.

KAUST named “Lab of the Year” by R&D Magazine

LEADING science and technology publication R&D Magazine has named KAUST as their 2011 ‘Lab of the Year”. In the magazine’s annual “Laboratory of the Year” competition, the University was honored under the new construction category. Previous winners of the Lab of the Year award include Harvard, Stanford and MIT.

KAUST celebrates Inaugural Commencement Ceremony

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) awarded Master’s degrees to 292 pioneering graduates, 15 months after the university opened in September 2009. The inaugural Commencement ceremony was held on the university’s campus in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia on December 16, 2010.
